Default Porting The FAST 90/90 Setup?

Well I called today to get the price quote from my tuner about getting the new set of Trick flow heads and upgrading to a 90/90 setup. I have seen where alot of guys are getting the Fast90/90 setup (intake and TB) ported before putting them on. What are the REAL advantages to this and how much HP are you really getting from it? Is it worth the cost and what does it cost? I am already running the MS4 cam with full bolt ons so the only thing I am replacing in the heads/valvetrain and intake/throttle body. I am already at 450rwhp and just want to make sure I get too 500rwhp after this swap so if it is REALLY beneficial to port the FAST setup I will get it done but I am really unsure. I am hoping to hear from some tuners or people that have 1st hand experience with this. Also, is the stock MAF on the 02 Z06 ok for this setup or do I need to get another one?

I don't know about the MS4, but my MS3 with the same setup you're getting "only" made 470/410. With the recent hype, it seems anything less than 500rwhp with TFS 215cc are too low.) My TFS heads were milled to 59cc, and I also have ported FAST 90/LS2 TB. Hopefully, you'll have better results with the MS4. I yanked my MS3 out for a smaller cam and will hopefully get some torque back.

While I would love to have some high torque numbers I am not too concerned about them because I have nitrous on the car if I need it. I think the MS4 does a little more horsepower than the MS3 BUT I don't think it would be a 30hp difference to get to 500. I just don't want to drop that much more money into the setup and not see 500. If I bought the heads and 90/90 setup and only got 20hp I would be severely disappointed. If the TF heads live up to their hype they should give me 50hp with the 90/90 also. I HOPE!

I run a 100 wet shot on my Z also. TFS are def. great heads, but for some reason they didn't work well with the MS3.

I can't say in the open thread since they are not a vendor. Send me a PM if you want to know. I am not sure how hard it was. I know it took quite a few adjustments to get the hot start right but it runs great now.

I have read all of their posts and I know the numbers they are making. Problem is I don't have their cam so that really doesn't help me too much. I think I have decided to go ahead and purchase a blower anyways. I just can't see paying all the money for a fast 90/90 setup and trick flows to get about 50rwhp more than I have now. I still may do it though. I am undecided!

I would at least give them a call and tell him what you are thinking, he might have some good advice to save you some time and money. They were a big help to me.

The MS4 isnt ALOT different than our Vindicator camshaft.. Im QUITE confident we could break 500rwhp with TFS heads/Ported FAST 90....

Give us a call if we can help you out

If I lived closer to GA, I would get the Vengeance cam in a heartbeat. But the problem with getting the setup and having it tuned by another shop is that when the car doesn't produce the power you're looking for you'll be going around in circles. The tuner will blame it on the setup and the other shop will blame it on the tune. Of course if everything work out well and the car makes 5,153,443.87rwhp there won't be any problems.

Talk to your tuner about the setup and see how they feel about tuning it, it could be a killer setup but without the right tune the car will still run like crap.
