Default Z06 Throttle Bodies

Does the Z06 have a larger throttle body than the LS1 equipped Vettes? I see plenty of ported TBs out there for LS1. Do we need a larger TB on the Z06?

I'm going with the BBK 80mm throttle body. Mine goes in my '01 Z next week along with the Halltech TRIC and the Granatelli MAFS.

All ordered from Steve at C5 Corvette Performance. More info here:

There is no HP gain from a ported throttle body, save your money.
Check my dyno sheets, I have dynoed almost all my mods.

Ported tb isn't even necessary on my head and cam car. Now if you do a stroker.... :yesnod:

I disagree. I had mine done at MTI and gained 5 rwhp. Here's my dyno sheet showing the gain.
I have seen greater and lesser gains from this mod, from as high as 10 to as low as 0. So, it is a bit of a gamble. For the $100 I spent I think it was worth it.

I specifically asked this question to Katech Engines, builders of the C5R engines. http://www.z06vette.com/pitroad3.php They told me that there was no HP gain on a ported TB unless you had a head and cam package and even then, the max gain was only 5HP. Save your money!! :p:
