Are vanity plates a one-time fee (my county is $50) for plate creation, or do you have to pay that fee each year you renew your tag? Couldn't find the answer on the county website.
I know in California, you pay an initial fee and a annual fee on top of your regular reg cost. Something like $45-50 extra annually. Your states dmv website should list all the details.
In Florida I pay $36.10 for a regular/standard plate on the vette and $63.10 for a Challenger/Columbia plate on the daily driver, not even a vanity plate.
I believe the additional cost in most states is annualy.
Just got the renual notice, my two plates are within 50 cents. One plate is a specialty one is not. About $46 apiece, paid an extra charge when I got the specialty plate for the vette.
Yeah I'd gladly cough up $50 as a one-time fee, but am on the fence about the yearly renewal thing. Granted, anyone can come up with $50 by not eating out 5 times in a year, but it's just "one more thing" ya know.
It may depend on if the plate I want is available.
