Default Street tires ?

Ok here is the deal. I have a set of Black Motorsports that I'm going to use on the street and I will retire my stock Z wheels for track days only. I will be running Goodyear F1 supercars on my stock Z wheels for the track days since they are the best tire for the job w/o going to a full slick or RR tire.

Should I buy F1's to put on my street wheels (black motorsports) or should I just buy something cheap like Firestone Wideovals. I need something that is going to last a while that's why I was thinking about getting away from F1's for street use.

I guess my question is: Should I spend twice as much on F1's for the street or just go with some cheaper tires since I will be using F1's at the track anyways! Thanks guys!

Any input would be appreciated.

Why if you are going to use your stock Z06 wheels for track only use would you leave the F1's on them? They aren't that good a tire anyways. Just move the F1's to the black Z06 rims and run some drag radials or slicks on your track setup. Drag radials or slicks will be cheaper than the F1's and perform alot better at the track. I gave my F1's away. I didn't like them at all.

Why not buy better tires like PS2 since you will have dedicated SCF1 for the track.

But as for your questions, WO for your street and SCF1 for you track is what I would do.

I am assumming that you want to drive the Z to the track. If you are not, then once the F1 are done move to some drags/slicks

I have seperate wheels/tires for the drag strip...that's wasn't my question in this thread

I mean't road course setup.

As soon as I cook off another set of F1's I will probably move to some kumo 710's or something similar.

Does everyone agree that the Firestones are a good budget street tire with decent tread wear rating?
