Default Hella fog light setup

Hey guys, I just bought a set of Hella fog lamps (H3 bulb type) and I have the hardest time putting them in. I dont know how to put them in using their own brackets, and I dont think I can use the vettes stock bracket since it doesnt match up at all.

So, is there anyone out there that has replaced their stock fog lamps with Hellas, and if so, how in the world did you place them in their place and at the same right, made them fit right?

BTW, here is what Im talking about...

Hella fog light with HID bulb

stock fog light with stock bracket

bracket that I have

Thanks again, I really appreciate it

That light and the brackets look different from what I got a couple of weeks ago, but I hope these pix help... look at the 4th pic down. I used the OEM bracket with the one I got withe Hellas... it mounted back in the OEM position... I haven't had any issues since. I just had to bend the OEM bracket into an L shape, but it went back without any problems...

yea it actually does help a lot! I was thinking of using the stock bracket as well but I wanted to see if there was any other trick and if the stock bracket idea would actually work...

thanks a lot

The bracket in the last pic is NOT the bracket to hold the light - it is used to hold the HID ballast box!

well, I finally got the fog lights to fit properly, and now I stumbled into another problem...

check these out...(sorry for the bad quality)

as you can see, on the left is the stock fog bulb and on the right is the HID ballast (by the way I also got the kit from "nissangtrpower" on eBay) which do NOT match. The problem is that the stock fog light harness which regularly plugs into the end of the bulb (shown on the left) does not match up with the ballast (shown on the right) where it is suppossed to be plugged into...

what do I do?????

did you see this thread? http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...hlight=hid+fog

all he did was plug the spade connectors from the HID's into the stock wiring and wrap it with electrical tape.

i ordered the same HID's from nissangtrpower too and i am going to revert back to stock fogs over the PIAA setup i have now. i'll post how it goes for me and let you know if i have the same problems as you.

i am anticipating i won't, based on the thread i posted above.

ok, it is finally done...

it took a bit of work to get them to fit right, probably not all the way there...this brings me back to my next point...if its stock, it fits just right!

anyway Im still waiting on my drivers side projector lamp to get here (the old one cracked when a douche of a valet tried to park my car)...

look at the hotspot on your garage, it appears to be at least 6-8 inches higher than the passenger.

have you measured the cutoff at 3' from the wall? it should be about 25" at the hotspot or less.
