That happend in my 02. Took it to the dealer and they replaced the wiper switch ($159 parts). They found the wiper switch shorted internally.

$311 was the total repair cost (My extended warranty through Warranty Direct picked up the entire cost for me)..

Make sure you pull the fuse for the wipers or they can scratch the windshield.

Default This happened to my '98 last april..

I took it to the dealer and they said the molding where the bottom of the windshield meets the black plastic tray was unseated and that the cowl drains (utters) were clogged. They took me right away but said I could have pulled the fuse for the wipers to make them stop.

Total price: $643.06

parts: motor
Screen as
arm - crank
labor

Hope yours is cheaper to fix - good side, this is the only repair on the car so far, having said that I have to go check now 'cause I'm sure I just jinxed myself!!!!!

Good luck

More than likely its just the wiper module. They have always given GM some problems. I'm pretty sure these are serviceable on your car. It is located under a plastic cover on the wiper motor housing. You may or may not have to remove the wiper arms to remove the cowl screen. I haven't had one apart on a vette in a while. You should be able to fix this for under 50 bucks if you do it yourself.
