[Z06] Baseline Numbers, mods in progress.
I replied back to you on Tuesday and again this morning asking for the best number to speak to you at since I would rather speak to you over the phone than email. I was hoping to talk to you a little bit more about the numbers you got and why you got them and maybe find a way to help you out a little. I was a little disappointed to find out about this post from one of the other guys here a little while ago.
When you contacted us, you already had your camshaft and you needed heads. You all but had the heads you wanted picked out and you wanted to know if this would be "to radical for a street driven 346 ci motor". My answer then and still would be, no its not.. it would run great.
Personally I tend to do business a certain way, and ill explain on that a little bit here. I never like to trash another company or another company's products. I dont believe in trashing another company to try and make a few dollars, it doesnt do you, Lingenfelter, or Myself any good at all. I have to assume your tuner knows his stuff and that his dyno is up to par, but to me it sounds as if though he thinks you may still yet pick up a few more horsies, which is a good thing. We've never tested that cam here at our shop so I dont know exactly how much power you were going to get with our setup. We have made more power than that with our cams. With that being said Im not sure what Lingenfelter expects customers to get with that camshaft.
When you originally ordered your heads we had just changed over to a new program and some of the specs had changed from the previous setup. I was very hesitant to give you an exact number without knowing %100. Again, I try not to give out the wrong info if I can help it.
One thing to keep in mind is that some people post cam only numbers of 440-475rwhp on occasion, so I tend to take dyno numbers with a grain of salt. We have two different types of chassis dyno in house simply because you can never fully trust one single dyno sometimes. When you get your tranny done and can get a track time im really curious to see what it does with that camshaft.
I do have cams in stock and ready to go if you decide you want to change.

Thanks for the response. I'm sorry to have posted negative feedback about Livernois, but I sent my last email inquiry to you on Mon night and didn't get your return email until this morning after the negative feedback was already posted. So I figured you were blowing me off. This has been a learning experience for me and I hope for you as well. I probably would have made a different choice on either heads or cam had I known Livernois recommended a single pattern cam with their heads. I did not see this recommendation anywhere on the web-site nor did anyone tell me this. My expectations about HP are posted earlier in this thread. My tuner is hoping their is extra power to be had because he was a little disappointed by the results as well.
Bullit,
I know Dyno's are merely a tool but I wasn't that impressed by the seat of the pants feeling of this combo. Had I made a different choice with the right information I probably could have picked up 10 or more HP for little or no extra money and retained drivability. That's not a lot more but considering how much I put into this it's something, it would have increased my gain over baseline another 20%. Considering header/cat kit, Stage 3 heads, port-matched intake manifold, more aggressive cam, and underdrive pulley only added 49RWHP.

It made 295 RWHP stock and ran consistent 13.4 @ 104 mph then 420 RWHP / 390 RWTQ and consistent 12.3 @ 117-119 mph (with lots of wheel spin) afterwards.
