Ok, I have 2 questions about appearance mods for my future vette....
1. Has anyone done racing stripes? Pics? I think it has the potential to look good, but I could be wrong. If anyone has any pics of one, could you post them please
2. I heard somewhere that there is a simple mod that allowes you to switch out the color of all your dash lights--(speedo, odo, gas, ect.) also all the other interior buttons--(door lock, window, ect.) Is this true? If so, how much does it cost?

- there are a lot of members with racing stripes. I am sure some will post pics. I think they look good but its not somthing i would put on my Z. there is a website, any they may be a supporting member, that sells a variety of racing strips for the c5 vette... they have tons of pics on there website.

- cost wise the mod is very cheap... you just have to buy a couple LED lights in the color of your choice. I am planning to do this mod very soon but i do think there is alot of work involved in switching out the bulbs for LEDS. like i said its a cheap mod but i wouldnt say its a simple one.
In my opinion less is more. Really look at the car and do things in a tasteful maner. If you were to put every doo-dad and thing-a-mo-bobs they sell for these cars it would look like sheep shi#t.
Don't go for the 17 year old fart can subcmpact "tuner car" route. Get a big wing on the back and Eddie VanHalen guitar stripes. These cars were designed by guys that have an idea of what looks good or bad. I think there are some mods that can make a difference for the better. Lower it to lose the 4x P/u truck look and other subtle stuff that looks factory. Just my $.02
It depends on what color interior lights you ant actually. I wanted Red lights and did alot of research... well several of us have. If you have 2 hours here's our thread where we are addressing several problem areas with the upgrade...
To make along story short I found Red bulb covers for the stock bulbs, very easy mod, no soldering and I did every light including the Radio and HVAC for $15!

Where did you find the colored covers for the normal bulbs?

no worries, I have very few visual mods in mind. I know how to make a car look good, and keep it from looking like rice.

The stock lights show as a dingy kinda yellowish white. The stock T1 bulbs actually have blue covers on them to help cut down the yellow cast of the incandescent bulbs, much like the GE Reveal bulbs (if you notice they have a blue cast to them)?

Most guys change the lights to Blue LEDs...
Yeah, if I end up with a red vette, I'll have blue dash lights with red interior neons. On the flip side, if I end up with a blue one (which is what I really want) I'll have blue interior neons with red dash lights.
