I did a lot of searching on this issue and kept getting mixed results. From what I got, the regular C5s (2001 up) with a manual get 19 city and 28 highway, which sounds right cause that's what I used to get and even low 30s on the highway. I'm trying to find out if the Z06 should be getting the same fuel economy or less? I know they have different rear ends and trannys. What do you guys get?
Thanks...
my son and i road-tripped to bowling green two septembers ago in my '04 Z16,and got 28mph doing mostly 75mph on the interstates!around town here,i get 19-20 mpg(and i DO try to utilize it's capabilities),within the parameters of the law!!!
I have the original window sticker for my '01 Z06. 19 city, 28 hwy. I average 26 using it as a DD in mostly highway driving. Just get the car into 6th gear as much as possible to maximize mileage. I might average more daily driving, but about once a month I go to the track. In about an hour on the track my average mileage drops down to about 22. It takes me all month to get it back up to 26.
I myself have never been a gas mileage kind of guy. I do get better than average mpg than i ever would have dreamed of.....until the Bullets were put on. Now i could care less what I get for mileage
Thanks everyone. The window sticker would be a good place to start.
But I also understand what you're saying C5 BearFan, you can't help yourself, but keep stepping on that pedal to hear the exhaust
In real life, yes the Z06 should theoretically get slightly less MPG. But the funny thing is, automatics got the gas guzzler tax added on and the Z06 didn't because of the CAGS.
So the specs on paper will say its the same or BETTER than an auto c5..... however in real life, it should be a little less.
