Default Clutch/ Tranny problems

I just picked up a 98 Vette w/ 6 speed that has some sort of clutch issue. Hopeing someone here can pin-point it for me.

In ANY gear, when i let out on the clutch without touching the gas, car moves smoothly without any bad noises.

If i do the same except giving it any amount of gas (literally 200 rpms above idle will do it) i get a awful chattering/grinding noise. Only does this from a dead stop and it does it in any gear. As soon as the clutch is fully disengaged i can floor it and it doesn't make a sound, car just hauls ***. No clutch slippage.

Problem #2... might be related. If i am going thru the gears hard (redline) it is very hard to shift. If i am 3/4 throttle.. it shifts easily. Someone suggested shifter linkage.. but i dunno why it would only affect it when i am hauling ***. Seems a bit notchy to me, although this is the first vette i have driven.

Car had the clutch replaced about 6 months ago according to the previous owner.

Thanks!!
Shannon

Could be a lot of things, including a bad pressure plate springs, flywheel not flat or clutch linning issues.

You don't state what type of clutch that is installed, as some are know to chatter. If it's one of those that chatter only fix is to replace the whole assembly.

i would assume to replace your clutch if it has many miles on it before u do tear up any of the tranny... that would be my shot
