Default Opinion on SLP headers????

i know these are good headers but i am getting some for a real cheap price just wondering if they were worth it. They are equal length long tube headers with off road pipe. Just wanted to know everyones opinion. i am palnning on Haltech intake and tune to compliment the headers.

I have the same headers in my car and I love them. I went with the HiFlo cats though. W/O anything else done to the car my dyno numbers went from 359 rwhp to 374 rwhp. You can feel a difference in the power for sure. Once again very happy with them.

I don't know if it's the same. But if it's any help. I heard the fit and finish on the SLP headers are great. I talked to a few people who had them on their fourth Gen LS1's saw great horsepower numbers but I hear they have terrible ground clearance.

I have slp long tubes and hiflow cats and they have a real nice finish, sound great and make good power. Lots of C5 tuners/fabriactors say they're a pia to install because they take up a lot of room. I love em, also have slp 3in pipes to the stock ti mufflers, they sound great. The ground clearence is another issue, I'm lowered on stock bolts and yesterday while leading a couple of cars down my favorite closed secure road , going over a rise, trying to catch air, when I came down the car behind me told me I showered him with sparks. I've rarely had problems with driveways/speedbumps and the like.

To state my complete issue the ones i am buying were for a C5 1997 and mine is 2002 Zo6. i know i can make them work but the guy that had them installed previously burned up his wiring harness to the starter. Now he didnt buy the install kit that SLP sells so that may have been the issue. I dont really want to ruin my car....if you know what i mean.

Get the heat tubing/shielding kit slp sells. The original owner of my car didn't have them installed correctly and the headers burnt an 02 sensor wire and a plug wire. Shields correctly installed and 35k miles later, no problems.

I've installed SLP headers on my old 94 LT1 Z28 and the fit was perfect.

Don't have any clue about the install on a vette though lol.

Hey I would make sure you install the heat shields or you will burn some wires. Also, the place I had install them I was charged $1200 for labor. OUCH. The guy said he would probably never do another install for the SLP headers, they had my car for 4 days. I love them though. Had them in for 15,000 miles with no issue's. They have a great sound, I do have some clearence issue's though. I've bottomed out on of few ramps going down and a couple speed bumps but nother too bad. Just have to be careful. I do highly recommend them though.

Oh one more thing. You shouldn't have to get the O2 simms. My check engine light came on for a bit then I reset it and haven't had any more issues with it.
