Default Who widens wheel?

Does anybody know a GOOD source for getting my wheels widened?
And if you've had it done, let me know how it worked out and if they balanced ok.

Thanks!

Best bet is to talk to the original manufacture. They can provide more info than we can.

If they are OEM - they can be 'expanded' - but beware of "who" does this. Make sure they have a track record.

If they are aftermarket - HRE, CCW, etc. - your probably better off with them doing the work

Just a note- John Page (21st Century MC 972 417 7177) recently had someone do a set for him - might want to give him a call.

Weldcraft Wheels. I had a set of 18x10.5 thin spokes widened to 18x12. Turn out great with not balancing issues. They do awesome work. Cost $200 per wheel. AllThrottle&NoBottle also had a set done by them. PM if you want their contact info.

James at Weldcraft is great to work with. Remember, they can narrow wheels too, for those that need front skinnys. I had them do a whole set for me (rears widened and fronts narrowed) about 4 years ago, and they're still perfect.

I used to run a set of chrome Y2Ks. 18x9.5 front and 18x10.5 rear. After I bought my HREs, I had the Y2Ks converted to my personal "drag pack". The rears are 18x12 now, with 345/30/18 BFG drag radials, and the fronts were taken down to 18x7 with 215/45/18 Bridgestone Potenzas.

My 18x12 require a tub. They originally had 64mm offset, same as stock ZO6 wheel.

All of the new width is added on the inside of the wheel, so it would require tubbing.

I sent a pair of OEM chrome 18"x10.5" think spokes out to Weldcraft Wheels to get widened. I had them add 1.5" to make 18"x12" rims. The rims will fit within the stock fender, but I will need to do a mini tub on it. I am hoping I can do the tubbing in the next week or so.

Overall I am very happy with the results the weld beads are very good. Here are some pics of the rims:

The tires came in last night. I am hoping to get them mounted tonight or tomorrow.

This should help with the traction issue the 402/F1-R will create

RA1s', nice. I plan on getting as set sometime this spring. I look forward to your impressions of them, specifically the warm up time, and how they do before warm up, as well as how bad they fling rocks against your car. Keep us posted.
