Default Looking for Corvette letter kit using taillight type material...

I have seen recently in a post on this Forum that someone sells the front and rear Corvette letters in the same type material as the taillights. I have a black 98 and don't want chrome, polished stainless, carbon fiber, red, etc.

Help finding a vendor is appreciated.

Thanks
Mick

I think its called brakelight.

I bought it from ECKLERS.

My car is red and I like the fact it matches the deep red of the brake lights. It looks nice without being over done.

I have the back bumper lettering only and it was about $60.

W.A.M., didn't see the brakelight type at ECKLERS. I found some at Mid America Motorworks;

I'll go with this. Thanks for the correct name "brakelight".

At ECKLERS search box enter breaklight and they will come up.

The ones you found appear to be the same thing, even the price is the same.

When you put them on be very careful with the pointed letters, they are easy to snag and pull loose. if they pull loose the adhesive will pull off.

I have the brakelight red lettering on mine from Mid-America. Love the look.

I'm thinking about the brake light or the carbon fiber. I have a black 98 with red calipers, black non-Motorsport wheels and will have the red GS left fender stripes this weekend. I think the brake light rear lettering would be a little more noticable, and go better with the tail lights, than carbon fiber but carbon fiber would be a nice match too. Just don't want to make it gawdy.

Thanks for the pic JD.

Default Hey Mick,

I've been thinking about doing the rear lettering kit also. I think the "brakelight" color is the best. I just want to see in person what it will look like before I install mine. PS This is sure a "Corvette Tax" item. $60 bucks for a few pieces of plastic! Sheesh!

I did the red vinyl lettering and it looks okay but I should have went with the "brakelight" red ones instead. For those of you that did the "brakelight" red letters, are the letters flimsy, or are they semi hard plastic?

Thanks in advance!

Kind of a soft plastic. Have rounded edges so they fit nice in the letters. Not thin like decals but not as thick as the hard letters, just nice and firm letter. Remind me of a "Gummy Bear", JD's pic above is a good picture of them. I love mine. Eckler's calls them 3D Letters i believe.

Had them on my C-4 and now on the Torch Red C-5. They have held up very well and I don't think look at all rice. I don't think I would like them on the front though, would have to see them there first. "Breaklight" on front doesn't go for me! JMHO

Thanks all! I think I'm going to definitely do the tail with these. I'm not too sure about the front either. If anyone has the "brakelight red" on the nose and you wouldn't mind posting the pics, I would love to see it.

Thanks again for sharing!

Thanks to those who posted pics. I'm gonna get the brake light type for the rear.
