I picked up my 99 last fall with only 8K miles. It's finally warming up so I have had the glass top out a couple of times. When it is out, visibility in the rear view mirror is non existent. I can't tell if it is how the sun is hitting the mirror or the window tint or what. Glass top is covered by privacy cover in back so shouldn't be glare from that. Anyone else experience this?
Has to be the glare coming off your window tint. I'm out in CA and my coupe is topless a few times a week, I don't have this problem and it must be due to me not having tinted glass.

I'd say it is to be expected. You're getting the same effect you would if you were outside trying to look in (and basically with your top off, you are outside). In order to see through the tint it must be brighter on the opposite side of the tint. When you take the top off you lose the contrast.
