Question about check engine light?

If the check engine light is on and NOT flashing, does anyone have a list of the possible problems that could mean? My 01 Z06 had the light come on this morning when I left for work and was about 5 miles down the road when it came on. Only 28 k on the car. Any help would really be appreciated.

if the code has an "H" next to it, just reset it and forget it - this is a common problem

At least we have the ability to check these ourselves on this car. They should all be that way. There are so many things that can trigger a check engine light.

You can NOT do this on the C6's..... I guess we all learned too much and it was hurting the dealers...

CEL can be SOOOOOOO much.... Yeah... Glen is right... C6's people are screwed... Shockingly... I havent seen ANYYYY c6's in my shop yet. LOTSSSSSSS of c5's though...
