Has anyone ever removed the radio in a Corvette? What is the first step? How do you pop the cover around the radio off without ruining it'? Anyone that can give me some tips it would be greatly appreicated,,don't want to mess my baby up. rcw4235@aol.com
you start at the center console. its not so hard. you need a couple screw drivers and a couple metric sockets. and about an hr to remove and replace. follow the destructions above. they are simple. order of the project IS VERY IMPORTANT
Really easier that the link makes it look. A couple of things to make it a little easier is to put the key in the ignition and move the shifter to a rear position and also move steering column toward you to give you more room to remove the trim. Remove the two small bolts holding the radio in and gently tug on the radio. The back of the radio fits snugly in its receptacle and you may need to use a small flat head screw driver to gently pry the radio out a little bit. Once you get it out about an inch or so it just slides out.
I recommend taking your HVAC out prior to removing the Radio. I scratched and dented the hell out of my HVAC when I was pulling the connectors off the back of the Radio...
