I had a clutch installed last monday, and since then, I have had the fuel gauge dive to zero once, and now I have the check engine light on with a P0440 (evap emissions system) code.
Firstly what do I check to fix this recurring code, and secondly, is there anything common to these two problems, that would have something to do with the clutch install, for example, a ground connection somewhere, that has to be disconnected to remove the rear cradle.
Any advice on how to troubleshoot this problem is appreciated
Thanks in advance
The codes sometimes changes year to year and I do not see that code in my list of 2004 vettes. However it seems like it might just be the gas cap which I have had problems with. Try removing it and replacing it. Clear the code and see it it come back.

I cleared it once, and it came back after two days, I'll clear it again, tighten the gas cap, and see if it comes back.
What's the next thing to look at, if it's not the cap ?
Just seems strange that I've had no codes thrown for 4 years, I get a clutch changed out, and it throws this code, oh well must just be coincidence
Thanks for the replies

If your gas cap is tight, first try a new gas cap.
Mine was shot, cleared up the codes.
If that does not work, you will have to take it in for an EVAP test, becuase you have a leak somewhere...
