A guy at work just told me about a repo'd Quicksilver Z06 that sold for $25k at a local dealer here after sitting on the lot for a whole 4 hours.
I told him he should have let me know and they wouldn't of had to put it on the lot. He said he'd have bought it if he knew before it sold.
Took mine for it's first cruise in 3 months today. Half an hour on the battery charger and I was scooting down the driveway with it's 2" of ice. Got up to 50°F today!

I used to hear war stories about former owners sabotaging cars when the re-po man was on the way.
When I was a teen-ager, I also heard tons of stories about dozens of cars that were supposedly sitting at the bottom of an abandoned coal mine (strip mine) that was filled with water. Former car owners supposedly claimed that their car was stolen.
The mine was perhaps 1/2 mile long, 100 feet wide, and hundreds of feet deep. (V shaped) Rumors also persisted that these cars did not rust because there was no oxygen in that water, because of the high sulfur content from the coal mines.
A cousin of mine located an early GTO down there and says he bought it from the ins co for $500. Also cost him $500 for the scuba divers.
He eventually sold it because he had great difficulty getting all of the water out of engine and tranny.
Not Ripley's; not Twilight Zone. Maybe close to it.
well I am not sure about people sabotaging thier cars but you can be sure that if the guy couldn't make the payments he sure as heck didnt keep up with the maintanance. The other thing that I have seen in the past was when a car had a problem like a blown motor or trans the owner gets mad at the car company and stops making payments. These people don't realize that the car company got thier money the day they took the car home and the lease or loan company could care less about the problems that you are having. No payment... you loose the car and your credit rating.
