db - I've got a blk 02 SS 1LE auto sitting beside my MY 02 Z06. They look cool sitting side by side. I love the lines and brute looks of the SS. The Konis make it drive like a race car and the auto is perfect for when I don't want to shift gears.
I would give anything (almost) if someone could put a 502 in it. I would then keep all the OE parts (so I could return it to original )and have one bad a** fun to drive SS. Not to mention unique.
I think they should have put the LS6 in the SS, and a Tuner Dealer might (?) still do it on a small limited number of cars. IMO, Berger should have built a few LS6 cars. It's getting late and I doubt it will happen. I'm keeping my SS and When it gets tired, Who Knows, Maybe a LS6 Should go in just because it's a Good Idea! I Would Like That. :D CORVETTES DO RULE AND I LOVE MY LS6! :jester WAVIN :seeya
the 1993 ZL1 had the 572 engine 700+ hp if im correct...
Yeah, it had something like that in it. It had an aftermarket block, aftermarket heads etc.. if I remember right. It also ran on race gas and it was a one off project done up by Jon Moss and his team from what I know about it. No where close to a production car that's for sure.
Just take the SS and put your choice of Heads/Cam/PCM tuning on it. Looks stock, matching numbers (have your heads done like Rat), put 400 RWHP to the ground with no problem. If you want Big Block squeeze, add 75 hp of NX or TNT assistance. Then, run 11.8 in the 1320 with your favorite set of chicks in the back seat...Built in Cheering section (Please see Z06bliss for assistance :yesnod: )
I wonder how much power it would take for my SS to feel like my Z06 considering that the SS is an auto? And I'm willing to ship it (the SS) if someone can put a 502 in it and do it right.
They are going to make around 70 of the ZL-1 Camaro's, right now they are reworking the emissions, but they will be ready by 02 for you to order from though your chevy dealer. The price will be between $50,000 and $55,000....well worth the money of you ask me.
I think the ZL1 should be a big block and not some mod out LS1, that was always my dream to own that 93 ZL1 "572 CUBIC Inches" man what a car i wonder if its still out there ? would love to go against it on the track. Ohwell i can just put more money in to my Z28, Hoping for 600+ RWHP out of the dyno this weekend wish me luck.
