wrong forum, but I would talk to the Car Care people....

but...is it an outdoor or indoor?

Are you going to use it for dry weather or wet?

...look at CALIFORNIA CAR COVER COMPANY for any type of cover, material, inside/outside, colors, etc.

It is form mostly the dampness (not rain). But I think it should be soft inside so as not to scratch the clearcoat. Any input would be appreciated.

Just went through this with my black Z06.

My car is not a DD, just a weekend cruiser. I got a Covercraft Superweave cover for outside storage, because I don't have a garage.

The superweave flapped a bit in the wind and left some swirl marks in the clear coat. An email to California Car Cover (where I bought it) was not even answered. Funny, they answered me right away when I wanted to buy something from them. Hmmm. I still use covercraft covers, but buy from a different vendor.

Anyway, a post on this forum gave me alot of good advice. Here is what I compiled from all the info

1. Never cover a dirty car. I use the appropriate clean up before I cover it; california duster, spray and wipe with detailer spray, or (mostly) I wash the car. I do at least one of these steps just prior to the cover going on.

2. I bought a second cover, a Dustop cover. I put that cover on first to protect the paint and then the superweave over the top to keep out the weather. Probably overkill, but makes me feel better.

3. I use a thick 48" bungee cord connecting the loops on both sides of the car cover. It snugs the cover down enough to keep it from flapping in the wind and yet doesn't seem to stress the fabric loops.

I waxed the car and then covered it in this manner. It went through two rainstorms, one of which had pretty high winds. When I uncovered it, it looked almost as good as when the cover went on.

Garage quality protection.... nope. But without a garage, it's as close as I think I will get.
