[Z06] Which spark plug?

Which spark plug?
I want to replace my plugs pretty soon. I did a search and couldn't find any definite answer. The car is a stock 2002 Z with about 70 grand on the clock. What plug should I use, and what should the gap be?

There will be a lot of opinions. My 2k2 came with Denso Iridium plugs in it. And that's what I replace them with. They are gapped, boxed, and sitting on the shelf waiting for you at Autozone. I want to say it's .060 but I don't remember right this second - however Denso gaps them for you, and I checked each one before I installed them to find they were spot on. For some reason I want to say the gap information is in your owners manual - but I just woke up from a dead sleep, perhaps why I can't remember the gap in the first place - so don't quote me on that.

I replaced mine around 50k (just decided to do it) and the wires were replaced last April as a couple of them fell apart (typical outcome) when MTI was taking them off to get into the valve train. They were replaced with the GM red wires you mention.

Sorry I edited my post. I meant to respond to the thread starter. Twil1ght it was pretty much the same for me I changed at 40K just to really get a look at them. They looked great. I should have put them back in and saved some $$$ When I went to replace the plugs the stock wires came apart. So I had to get a new set. Don

Well, I haven't done any maintenance to the car, besides a new air filter, and I purchased it with 42 thousand miles. It is now at 70 thousand, and whether they are the stock plugs or not, I am going to change them, just for piece of mind.
Same here. Gap was .060 (Your stock ones got you to 70K right! For the post originator). I replaced the wires and plugs at 40k or so and used Magnecore KV85 wires. Stock wires are fine, and GM makes a red set that look good with the fuel rail covers. I have 52K on the car now. No issues.

NGK TR 55s. Most time the gap is real close off the shelf. Anytime they get dinged up working on the car, just swap them out too easy. Just make sure you hear the click when you put the wires back on, and might as well swap them while you are at it. Lots of ideas bout that too, lots of good wires out there too
