I'm in need of new rubber on my baby. I bought it with Khumo Ecsta MX non run-flats in stock sizes, so that's all I've ever experienced.
What I would like to know is if there is a comparable tire with a smooth(er), rounder sidewall, something that would protrude out a little bit more, still look nice, in stock sizes, ride quiet, and around the same price?
I'm taking a road trip in May (15+ hrs) to Destin Florida, and my inspection is coming in April.
I just picked up a set of General Exclaim UHP's for 420 dollars at the tirerack and after having them on 2 different cars i'm sure they'll be awesome on my vette. They're as sticky as Nitto 555's just without the price.

Well, sir... just read Tire Rack's reviews, tests, specs, and surveys. Seems these Generals are rated top in their category! Might just have to follow your suit!
I bought a set of Michelin Pilot Zero Pressure (runflats) about a year and a half ago. They are much more pricey than what you mentioned (I think I paid about $1500 for everything, which included the tires, tax, mounting, lifetime balance, road hazard, and a 3-year alignment policy). Got 'em at NTB, and they matched Tire Rack's price, plus $15 each to account for shipping (which is about what shipping costs). The only extra I had to pay was the sales tax, but I got the peace of mind of having bought them locally in case of problems.
It's a great, smooth-riding tire, and so far, after about 14,000 miles, I can't tell there's any tread wear at all. As far as how they look, they might not meet your desires. I don't think they look nearly as good as the stock Goodyears, and they're a bit narrower across the tread even though they are the stock size.
