Targa vs FRC
Is there really that big of a diff? Is it a structural integrity issue?

The coupe has less drag than the FRC. Thats one of the reasons the C6 Z06 is a coupe now and not a FRC. Other than that there really is no difference.

Then why isn't the C6 Z06 a Targa?
As, it is still an FRC.

The C6 Z06 is an FRC. Just with the hatchback.

While the cd of the coupe is .29, it is somewhat higher for the FRC...I don't recall the exact figure...but the difference is such that the top end on an FRC is about 5-10mph lower than a coupe's, all other things being equal.
The FRC has slightly more rigidity than the coupe, but wouldn't make a difference in most real world driving conditions...maybe it would if you were pushing the utter limits.
The FRC is indeed lighter, but unless I was tracking my car, I don't that I would want to make the compromises necessary to trim the extra weight (ie thinner windshield, less sound deadening material, etc).
All in all, I think the coupe offers the best mix of compromises of the bunch...but to each his own.

Hint above.
The C5 FRC has been referred to as a notchback, as compared to the hatchback. Also referred to as a hardtop.

The coupe has the flux capacitor and the FRC does not. End of story.

Really the only big difference to me is obviously that you can enjoy some open air driving with the coupe. For the driving I do, the structural rigidity is not that big of a factor for me between the two.
