Frame Protection

Need help in deciding. Are the skid plate stiffeners same as the frame guards that have the wheel? If so, which is better or which provides the better protection?

Ok, I'll try and answer this, since we invented the front frame rail skid plate...

The skid plates were originally designed for the C6. The C6 could not use a FattDaddy or FattMamma, but they still wanted protection for the front radiator support.

The skid plates are more effective on parking curb type impact.

The FattDaddys are more effective on rollover assistance, or egress on banked inclines.

A surprising number of our customers do both on a C5, including my personal car...

I have the skid plates that Willfulone shows on mine - very nice addition to the car and affords some good protection.
