Happens all the time. These cars tend to draw a significant amount of juice. If let sit for a couple weeks at a time, expect this to happen unless you have a charger hooked to it.
i just jumped it and let it recharge ..it only sat from friday night till saturday mornings..something is running .dont know what it is .so i went and bought a portable jumper .which really sucks to have to have ,but better than finding someone to jump you .
I'd suggest having the battery and the charging system checked to ensure they're OK. If that doesn't solve the problem, then you'll have to try to isolate what is draining the system. You can do this by using a voltmeter (set to measure current draw) and one by one pulling fuses. When you see the current load drop, you at least know which fuse is drawing the current, and can check that circuit further to find the problem.
I let mine sit since nov without disconnecting the battery and it got below freezing several times.
My motorcycle didnt want to start after turning over twice so I tried the vette.. was a little slow but turned after about 4 seconds. My v1 made some really strange chirping noises, and after about 15 minutes I took her our for a spin. I cant wait for summer to get the top off!
ok took my car to the dealership today and they told me they can't find whats killing the battery because it is an intermitting problem and asked if i minded leaving it over night ,so what choice did i have ..i kinda knew this would happen..what do i do now?
I own a 2000 C5 and I had the same problem with the battery. The clicking and "fan" noise you hear coming from the inside passenger side is probably the seat motor. Do you sometimes hear the noise even when the key is not in the ignition?
My driver's side seat motor would run intermittenly and it ended up draining the battery dead. I took it to the dealer and they told me the part itself would cost $865, not including labor. I had them pull the fuse as a temporary fix, but they only pulled one fuse (leaving the fuse to the lumbar plugged in) and again I found the battery dead, so if you do this, make sure you pull both fuses!
I had the new motor installed a few weeks ago and I haven't had any problems since.
