Thanks for the quick response! Well if this is the correct idle then my problem is something else because it acts like it wants to "run-on" or diesel when it shuts down. Their is a rattle under the car after it shuts down that I thought might be contributed to fast idle. I guess it may be in the clutch or throwout bearring.
You need to have the clutch in when you shut it off.
Even in the owner's manual it states to put the shift lever in Reverse with the clutch pedal pressed in, turn the ignition key OFF and remove the key, then release the clutch.
Of course they don't say why do this just to do it.

My 04 idles dead on 500 its an Auto, funny tho u asked this question b/c i drove my 04 dodge ram hemi and it idles about 700 and i thought it was a bit high
