Tint Coat?

I just received my window sticker from the Corvette Museum on my 2001 coupe. Can anyone explain the Tint coat option for 600.00?

Does this mean I don't need to wax as often?

I never noticed that one before and I have the window sticker as well for my 01. Perhaps its the factory window tint.

It says under options:
Magnetic Red Met W/Tint Coat.

It has something to do with the paint.

It probably refers to the actual paint color of your car, such as magnetic red II metallic (a '02 option). You wouldn't "wax on; wax off" any more than any other color.

Millennium Yellow and Magnetic Red were extra cost paint colors with a tinted clear coat to give extra depth. They are maintained like any other paint.

is a tint clear coat something that can be sprayed over a stock torched paint. Just wondering what that would look like
