Looking at a c5 with basic bolt ons and a borla cat back system the owner is not sure about an emissions as he does not need it where he lives but I would need to in order to import to canada is there any reason to think the car may not pass if no cam or header work has been done?
Thanks any input would help.
Don't know about Canada - in California, the cat-back exhaust wouldn't be a problem, but an open-element air filter (like a Blackwing) can be problematic, depending on the inspector.
Thanks for the replys I am a bit nervous only because due to location I would basically be buying and then flying nin to drive the car home and hope for the best when I have it inspected!

To be cautious, maybe you could ask the owner for a complete listing of modifications. Then contact your inspection station to see if they see any problems with the mods. If anything needs replaced, you would know in advance and can budget for it.
Where I live (Missouri), they hook up to the car's computer and determine if it passes. It took me two trips to the inspection center because the computer codes had all been reset (possibly by a low battery), and some of the things they check had not yet returned to "ready".
I'm in Canada aswell and I'm wondering if it would pass with a Vararam and B & B Bullets. I just received the Vararam and I'm debating on installing it, or maybe wait to until the emissions test is done. I have to do the emission test within a few months. Has anybody passed emissions with the Vararam on?
