Here's the deal. One owner, 04 zo6, 15k milles, all stock, $35000. It's at a small local dealer that sells alot of vettes. I think there is two monthes left on the factory warranty. Still has org tires, not to much tread left on them. The car looks clean, and drove nice. The salesman said it was traded in at a BMW dealer. That about all I know about it. What do guys think?

A good buddy of mine just bought an 04 with 3500 miles on it for $36.6 with a few months of factory warranty left on it, so I think the price is in line for you. I definately would say, ok to the deal if they agree to put on a new set of tires of your choice.
Good Luck!
I don't think there is much chance of getting new tires. He really doesn't seem to be in any hurry to sell. I think as soon as the weather breaks it will go pretty quick. Buy the way it's red, and I want it Thanks for the input.

Get some history on the car and if it checks out then buy it. Sometimes you just have to do the thing that will make you happy even if it costs you a little more. I would try to get him to knock a bit off for the tires though.
Since I do work in the new car dealer industry, I've got a good idea of what the car's value is. Plus I recently bought my own Z06 off lease. The asking price on the '04 is a good deal, don't worry about the tire issue, because the next person with cash might not either and then you're out of luck. Mileage is good and red is a desirable color in the resale market. It attracts more eyes than other colors sitting on the lot. You can buy an extended warranty up to the last day of the new car warranty. If the dealer isn't giving you a good deal on an extended, there are dealers on the forum that sell them just above their cost. Check it out before making a commitment on that. Jason at Ross Downing Chevy in Louisiana has the best prices I've seen. Also, regarding the tires, if they are going to sell you the new tires, pass. There are several good choices on replacement tires that will cost you less than a dealer will sell you Goodyears for. Even if you wanted Goodyears, you can buy them alot cheaper elsewhere than through the dealer, like at the Tire Rack. Good luck.
BTW, you can buy an extended warranty at any GM dealer, it doesn't have to be a Chevy dealer. Also, when a car is in extended warranty, servicing can also be done at any GM dealer, not just Chevrolet. I purchased my warranty through a friend's dealership, which is GMC, Pontiac, Buick. I recently had a couple of minor warranty issues which also were handled through his dealership.
That seems like a decent price, not a lot of profit for the dealer. As soon as it warms up the price will be going up. If you like it get it now.
The GM dealers should be able to pull up a history on the car if it was serviced at GM for anything.
there are aftermarket warranties you can find out there as well. just make sure they're reputable and have full coverage of the Z06 (not a coupe or vert). i'm probably going with continental warranty company, but that's only after i get my attorney friend to check them out, as well as ask some shops in the area if they've ever done any repairs with the company.

Recommendation:
1. Ask some GM service writers or mgs about 3rd party warranties. Most try to wiggle out of everything.
2. I have read contract for Warranties4wheels. I believe contract says that they will not pay for anything related to a TSB. That really bothers me. Also, they claim that they will sell a contract even if your car has 80,000 miles or more. That too bothers me. Seems like a lot of unnecessary risk for them, and at whose expense? Mine and yours, in my opinion.
