NO - you want a hot motor with cold air coming in. The colder thermostat will have little effect unless you have the fans set to come on at the lower temperature also, and air moves too quickly through the throttle body for a few degrees difference to have any effect on the air before it sees the combustion chamber. Save your money and wait until you can afford a good air intake, headers, or even a tune...
a post a week or so back outlined how a guy installed is TB coolant bypass wrong and pumped all the coolant into his PCV fresh-air intake and down to the crank case...

well i am about to get a tune i just saw that a lot of f-body cars do these mods. just curious didnt think much of a difference.
yep - good you asked than. there are hundreds of worhless mods out there - unfortunately I have performed a few myself along the way hoping for gains that never materialized
