I just bought a set of aftermarket wheels from a guy on the forum. I call Corvettes and clasiacs here on the east cost and they told me that wheels from that place in Sarasot were junk and did not run true sometimes needing 16 oz of weight to get them to run true and they would not do that. has anyone had this problem?

Not here. I have after market 18/19" C6 Z06 style wheels made in China by Factory Reproductions and bought from Forum vendor Bob at House of Wheels in Florida and don't find anything wrong with them. Sure they put balancing weights on when my tire folks mounted them but nothing was said of it being any worse than any other wheel/tire jobs I've given them. They aren't WCC, CCWs or other $1000 a piece wheels (paid $850 shipped) and serve me just fine.

Don't listen to the guys you called. You didn't buy your wheels from them so they'll give you a bunch of crap info.
16 ounce of weights per wheel???? They are crazy... Think of what that would really be
You'll be fine.
Go get them mounted and balanced and you'll see.
Get 'em balanced on a Hunter Roadforce balancer and you won't be disappointed. Look up a shop in your area on their website, mine has no problems and no vibration...

Thank you all Got the wheels today Tire Rack tires should be in tomorrow they even had a list of approved installers on there site in my area
If you have not already done so, may I suggest taking the time to read the reviews on the installers. I called a few before deciding where to go. One place was pretty arrogant and of course the rate was at the high end of the range on the tire rack listing. But another place, when asked about their experience with Corvettes, explained that they bought lift pads and use them. I was convinced they have seen a few Vettes. They also explained the thing sthey do to protext the wheels. They were the second lowest price place in my area.
The highest priced place acted like I was an idiot for not buying from them and letting them make another $500 on the deal.
My cousin got a set of wheels made by Factory Reproductions and one of the rears couldn't be balanced. Called the guy he bought them from (Bob's House Of Wheels) and they're sending him another one.
