Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. said Friday it has agreed to sell its engineered-products unit to private-equity firm Carlyle Group for nearly $1.48 billion

Can you spell "anxiety?" I hope you the best as I've gone through this in the past and hope you will remain whole. Your status was no doubt negotiated in the deal hopefully for your benefit.

Now that is what I call a nice caring response to a brother Vette owner who is about to lose it all.

I hope your right! I'm guessing it will be better, Goodyear was going downhill fast and they needed to sell us. Who knows, maybe I'll get a matching 401K now, it's been years since I've had one.

Seen It All Comin"
As a still active 35 year employee of Goodyear Tire & Rubber, I've watched this decline of their North American Tire investments for a very long time. While CEO Robert Kegan lines his pockets, the company heads south! This sale may not be a bad thing for your future after all. Best of luck!
