fuel gage problem

fuel gage problem
OK, I'm driving with over 1/2 tank and all of a sudden the gauge goes way passed empty and the check fuel light comes on. Just to be safe I stopped and put in 8 gallons.
Now the guage reads normal at 3/4.
What do you guys think? Fuel sensor? If so, how hard to fix?

Add some Techron to the tank every now and then and you should be set. Use good gas too.

Very common problem, it did it in my old vette too. Just buy a bottle of Techron cleaner and that should take care of the problem. Might have to do it twice though
