Mother F&%@rs!! Ok, so I was going to blockbuster with my girlfriend and pulled into the shopping area and was rolling at about 10mph and hit one of those angled flat top speed bumps.. It was effin camo! No color and neither of us saw it.. I hit the crap out of the front air dam and thankfully didn't bottom out on the thing (BTW my car is slammed to the ground), but it felt like my suspension took the blunt of it.. It pissed me off so much. Does anyone else have any story's like this??

I ran over one with 4 wheels of a Chev passenger car. Needed a wheel alignment. I pulled forward at an angle out of a parking spot, and I did not see the "blocks."
Ticked me off, and that was not even anything close to a vette. You have my sympathies.
I had one where I climbed over it, slowly and at an angle.. and when my front wheels were over the bump hit my under section Speed bumps are of the devil...
All I have to say is that if you live in So. California and have need to visit Boeing in El Segundo - DO NOT drive your vette into the parking ramp / garage. I high-centered on the biggest speed bump I've ever seen right past the entrance into the garage. The bottom of the car, where the body rolls under, is royally hosed. When approaching it I just didn't think it was as big as it turned out to be. I can't imagine how normal cars get over that thing, let alone my lowered Z.
That is the main reason I don't lower mine. Florida is one big speed bump. I do agree any car looks so much better lowered.
I learned the hard way when we moved our second home from Saratoga Springs to Naples. The bottom of the front fender on my Z16 cracked the first time driving over the speed bumps at my wife's sister's condo private road and parking area. We now tool around in our Trailblazer SS and Jeep Cherokee when in Florida. I keep the Z06s in Illinois were they fare better with the pole holes in Chicago than the speed bumps in Naples.
better get some rocker panel savers. I just ordered mine cause my headers hang lower than the rockers and are getting beat to hell - hopefully this fixes the problem...

I actually high centered and dragged a big temporary speed bump on a dirt road. I wanted to steal the thing or shove it into the ditch. If i have a passenger or a low tire I will scrape the rocker entering my driveway. And I'm just down on stock bolts, I can't imagine how you slammed guys get around.

They did not stop the fenders from cracking at the their bottoms. I have them on both my Z06s, both are lowered on their stock bolts.

Thats like just about every speed bump in some parking lots here.
i take my daughter to gymnastics once a week
this fall, they added 2 speed bumps to parking lot- but did not paint them for a couple weeks
almost every vehicle i have owned has been slammed, so i am used to scanning ahead
i rolled into the parking lot, in my daily driver- mazda P5, and those things were HUGE- i scraped, and its stock height
now i know i will NEVER be able to take my vette (to impress the instructors )
i'll take some pics (not of the instructors)
I just had rocker gaurds installed on my 02 ZO6 because I bottomed it out so bad I cracked the fiberglass. Like yours, my Z is slammed to the ground and I wouldn't have it any other way. It just looks Bad A$$ that way. The rocker gaurds were 200 bucks well spent. At least I know if it happens again (which it will!!) I'll have some protection.
