Anyone have alignment issues with Texas Speed Headers???
I installed them and noticed they don't line up with the tabs don't line up with the stock ones that hold the x-pipe up. anyone else experience this? solution???
its normal. the LG's are the same way. its actually better not to use those mounting tabs, it creates a lot of stress at that point and can crack the headers around the tab over time.
My LG's came with an adapter piece. I just put on my own hardware. Take a look.........
I'm sure you could probably make a similar piece or maybe use an exhaust hanger strap. The stiff kind linked to rubber that holds the U-clamp...NOT the stuff that comes in a roll.
Mine were like that too. But that mount is completely pointless. The headers are not going to fall off anytime soon. It would have been better if they would have left the tabs off. It would have made them easier to slip into place.
I'm in the market and deciding between LG streets and TSP:
so the solution is to not bolt them down?
Yes. The headers have 8 bolts each holding them to the heads. They are solid as a rock. The x-pipe has its own hanger so it's only applying a few pounds of wieght down on the back of the headers. I guess if the headers were very poorly made with weak welds, using that mount would reduce stress on the headers, but unless they mate perfectly, that mount will ADD a ton of stress to the headers as you tighten it. I bet that mount was just to reduce the chance of the stock cast iron manifold cracking. If GM would have put LTs on the car, I bet that mount would not exist.

I have also heard of issues with clearance with the bell housing and having to cut the tunnel brace to allow for o2 sensors. Any thoughts or reviews?
no clearence issues with the beel housing. passenger side header goes in from the top with the starter removed. drivers side header goes in from the bottom. it took a while to figure out but fitment was great.
