Default Removing Fan Shroud?

I am doing a little engine compartment upgrade in the next few weeks. I am looking for instructions on removing the front fan shroud, the large black part at the very front of the engine compartment, under the airbox or in my case under the blackwing.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Slik

I have taken mine off and if I remeber correctly you just give a little tug and it comes off the two plastic pins. You will also need to disconnect your airbridge from throttle body for some room if I'm not mistaken. Hope that helps

Search for a Vararam or Callaway install. It has to come out to do those mods.

before pulling the shroud, go to your local chevy dealer and get (2) of those plastic fuzzy retainers that go through the shroud on each side and into the a/c condenser, and (2) retainer rings. per callaway instructions:

remove (4) screws securing the radiator cover and then remove cover.

disconnect the hood light connector from the radiator shroud.

unplug the ambient air temperature sensor.

remove (2) metal retaining clips from plastic retainers. ( i just placed a long screwdriver between the shroud and a/c condenser and pried the plastic retainer apart. replace when installing )

raise and securely secure the car to gain access to the front shroud screws.

remove (5) screws holding the shroud to the nose.

remove (2) screws on the lower inside of the shroud. ( tip the air dam to gain access )

remove the shroud from the vehicle by pulling up and gently rocking side to side. be careful not to damage the a/c condenser fins during removal

Hey T, Nope no chrome, can't find anyone to chrome the shroud. Should be ready by the MACC show on May 5th at Costco in Hoover. How's that for a free plug! MACC does a great job with that show and I am very excited about being there. Heard a rumor that your are going to be selling homemade ice cream. It's going to be great!

See you there!
