Default Changing Belts / Hard Hard

I know there are mant threads on this, but on a scale of 1 to 5.
Five being the hardest. ( like the little wrenches in Vette Fever Magazine )

How hard is it to change out the belts ?

Any special tricks ?

Thanks

Not too bad at all. Its about 1 for me on factory setup (but that varies )

Use Goodyear Gatorback belts. They are the best.

BTW, with my current setup, changing belts is almost a 10

I'd say a 1 as well. It's not that it's that hard, it's just that it's a slight PITA if you've got remotely big arms and the car is still hot.

Drive it up on ramps and it won't be too hard. I'm another one w/ big hands that took a bit longer to get the job done.

Not hard at all, especially if you have somebody to help hold and keep them lined up on the opposite side.
These might help:

requires a 15mm socket or wrench to put pressure on the idler pulleys

put it up on ramps or jackstands - once that's done, the A/C belt might take 5 minutes, if you are slow - the main belt should take you all of 3 minutes if you take your time

has anyone changed the pulleys at the same time.... It looks like the large one on the crank shaft has a slight wobble to it. It makes a loud squeel for the first 10 minutes of driving.... any tips, reccomendations!!

thanks all!

I changed the main idler pulley and the AC tensioner. Idler is easy. The ac tensioner took me way too long. Ramps, as posted above would have seriously simplified the job. Better done from underneath. It would be helpful to have someone hold the AC belt in place at the harmonic balancer. I had to stic a breaker bar in to hold it in place. Great post of belt drive assembly etc. I could have used that!
