Even with the option OFF, the driver's seat in our '98 convertible always moves all the way back when the key is placed in the ignition. The car does not have the memory option. Anyone else experience this? I've had five C5s prior to this one and none had this problem but they all had the memory option.
It seems to me that I saw another post like this within the last few days - are you using FOB #2? The other person was, and once they switched to FOB #1, no more problems. I have no clue why this would fix the problem though....

if easy entry is off then the FOB number should have no bearing on why it stilll works.
You say the seat moves back when the key is placed in the ignition. The easy exit feature works when you shut off the car and pull the key out of the ignition. If you use a FOB to unlock the car, when you put the key in the ignition is when the seat goes to its preset location. Now, the fact that you say your car does not have the memory option shoots down my theory...

For those old enough to remember...as Grandpa used to say on Hee-Haw, "Fact is stranger than truth."
Also, let me add that when the Fob is used to unlock the car and the key is placed in the ignition and the ignition is turned to ON, the seat moves fully to the rear. But, when the ignition is turned off, the seat stays where it is. Wonder if the Body Control Module (BCM) is on the fritz? Had one go up in a '99 coupe and all kinds of weird stuff began happening with the electronics in the locks, windows, etc.

If you have easy exit off, the seat shouldn't move anywhere when you turn off the car and take the key out.
The seat would move to the farthest back position when you use the fob to open and put the key in if that is the location for the memory setting of that fob.
Again, with you saying that your car doesn't have the memory option, there is no way to describe why this is happening and it probably is some faulty electronics.
