I'm constantly getting a low oil level message, which is driving me crazy.I've checked oil level and changed the oil a couple of times, but it pops up about every 5 minutes and every time I start the car. I had the sensor changed but still get it. Also, I get tire press monitor message with the same frequency, even though I get readings on all wheels, but LR is slow and doesn't read until I'm up over 30MPH. I've tried disconnecting battery for periods of time, and even changed the battery to a new Optima, thinking I may have had low voltage(original battery in a 2000 vert). Anybody have any suggestions? Thanks for any help!

What year is your car and how many miles?

Do you have any other codes?

Depending on the age of the car, the TPS transducers in the wheels may just be dying. The batteries are supposed to last about ten years, but seem to be more like seven or so. If the ones in the car are that old, there may be your cause. If so, you can get the GM items from the sponsor dealers on the left (Fred Beans and so on). Or you can get aftermarket ones from places like Discount Tire or Americas Tire, for substantially less than list price for the GM items.

Of course, if your oil level sensor is acting up at the same time, you may really have a problem with the monitoring system (computer).

To see if the TPS units are more or less serviceable, try reprogramming (relearning) them. I'm in a hotel room, so don't have my manuals, but it's pretty simple and can be done with a suitably large magnet, and the DIC control buttons on the dash. I've got a couple of old "cow" magnets that a dairyman friend had left over. Some auto supply stores sell them - their also good to tape to the oil filter to collect metal, but the filter in the Vette is too tightly surrounded for that. Handy critters, and great for programming wheel sensors...
