Default Pohanka Chevy service Sucks

Had a recall problem w/ the steering column lock 4 times.

Took it to POHANKA Cheverlot in chantilly va 4 times, each time it was supposed to be fixed, It was not done so in a permanent manner.

It's the saddest thing seeing a vette being hauled away from a BMW track event on a roll back because of this.

I will never use Pohanka Cheverlot in northern va for anything. They kept trying to charge me for a warentee item, were slow, damaged my car, and were deceptive.

Watch the chevy dealers like a hawk, you'll go in w/ a warantee item and come out -$2000.

I would love for some one from chevy to stick up for this piece of shi!% dealership. I will send them the records invoices and letters and they can explain their certified service center's actions.

what crap, I couldn't believe when they scratched my climate control face and cracked my dash then tried to super glue it and use a piece of electrical tape over the scratch. LIKE I'm not going to notice!!!!

The M6 fix never worked correctly just the A4's did. Just get the CLB and be done with it ($150). Why are you $2k in the hole? It was a recall.

Thanks for the information. That's good to know since I also live in N.Va area and have only owned my car for about 6 mos. I'll avoid them but wonder if there are any good Chevy/Corvette service centers in this area.

I work for one... If we do the column recall no one ever ends up paying for it.

YIKES! This is the 1st bad thing I've heard about Pohanka Chevy. I have all major warranty repair work done at Koons Chevy. The service manager kept me updated on the progress during any work I have done there.

I had a very good experience with Pohanka about a year ago after Dudley Martin in Manassas attempted to rape me. They even got GM to cover something ($700) under warranty/goodwill on my 98 which is obviously well out of warranty. Unfortunately, I have since learned that the very good and experienced Vette Tech has left. I guess this is how it's going to be now.

For the work I need done on my Vette, I use Cooper Corvettes in Triangle/Dumfries, VA. Have never used any of the dealerships for anything. I like Cooper's because they specialize in Vettes.

I'm less than $500 in the hole (not that its right).

THe $2000 in attempted charges comes from:

Modules and controls assoc w/ the steering column lock assembly, but not a part listed specifically in the recall 2 different modules on 2 different occasions....$~700

Another $800 for the climate control they wanted me to pay for after they scratched up the first one. (they said they would cover the labor)

$300 for Replacing the plastic gauge sorrounding the radio and climate control after they cracked it (beans has it for ~$135, and they were so very generous to offer to cover labor cost).

Then they came to me w/ a rap sheet of maintenance like changing all fluid changes, new rotors, Brake pads (eventhough I had just changed them for driving school so they were tip top), fuel filter, air filter (eventhough I have a K&N), and who knows what else. Bottom line they told me this basic maintenance would be ~$2500.

I wish it were different, my parents were happy at the Pohanka Lexus & Acura Service (probably held to higher standard by a manufacturer), so it must be the incompetent slime ***** they have working in the Chevy Service that sets the tone. Once again Chevy owners are treated as second class by this organization.

Coopers Corvettes were very knowledgeable and helpful when I spoke w/ them.

My friend Likes Ted Britt in fairfax, they even told him when they scratched his window tint and offered to pay for it or take some off the bill.

I went to pohanka b/c they were close, my car was being towed, and it was a recall issue (I figured so whats the difference)

Koons all the way. Much better than anywhere in town. They worked on my truck (under warranty) recently.

Heritage I have had nothing but problems with. They wanted 90 bucks to change my WORKING radio code because they would not give me the code on a vehicle I BOUGHT THERE! They also sold me a vehicle as VA Inspected and ALL 4 wheels needed rotors, pads and parking linings.

Koons parks them inside at night, only one or two techs drive it AND they support the local club. Seems like a good enough reason for me
