Had new tires mounted today. The old weights were on the outside of the wheel. They put the new ones on the inside.
The old ones left a nasty mark on the edge of the wheel. I tried polish but can't get the marks off.
Any suggestions? I have the polished aluminum wheels.
What can I use that will not damage the coating?

Probably not much you can do about it. The wheels are clearcoated, so in choosing cleaning products or polishes treat the wheel's surface as you would a painted finish. But if polish isn't taking it out, the clearcoat is probably nicked.

The weights have probably damaged the clear coating on the wheels. Short of taking the clear off and recoating the wheel, you can try some very mild polish to try and get a little of the damage out.

Check with some of your local auto dealerships that sell used cars. They sometimes have guys that come to their lots to repair damaged wheels on their used cars. I bought my '00 Vette with a little curb rash on one of the clear coated thin spokes. I've since switched to chrome thin spokes, but I took my original wheel in and he took the rash out and touched up the clear coat. I couldn't find the damaged area. I'd be surprised if they didn't have someone in the area that does that repair for the used car dealers.
