Default Little sad

I purchased a Zo6 rear duct kit from WCC. I received It yesterday, an I started to install it today. I went throught all the steps marking, cutting everything. I went to install the left screen unit and after putting it in none of the nuts would thread on. So now I have a empty hole waiting for a replacement. I called WCC they told me I have to pay for another one plus shipping and send the bad one back plus shipping. No car show tomorrow.

Nouman, The nuts won't start. The studs that are bonded to the screen assembly are turning. The studs are 10-24 threads, I did try and retap but the stud is turning I try to hold them with longnose vise grips but now I can't thread the die all the way down. I then went and try super glue to see if that would hold but no luck. I guess I just have to wait for the new ones to come in from WCC.

I would not mess with them at this point. Just return them and wait for the new ones. Are they the original GM parts?

I did take the screen assembly to Home Depot to match new nuts with the studs but none of the nuts that they had would start either. When you install them you might want to put some thread lock on the studs(blue) to keep them from loosing up. I used a rotozip to cut out the openings that work great. Not to much white dust flying around.

Yes, they are GM parts, they have GM tags on all the parts.

Gary, that is total . That would be the VERY LAST thing I ever purchased from WCC.

Paul, were yours from WCC as well?

While at Home Depot I might have tried different screws to see if the threads on the nuts were different (maybe one metric and the other not) from the screws. Either way when you get something like this you're not supposed to mess around fixing their bad hardware.

Fill us in on how it goes. We need to know if this is a Customer Service trend at WCC.

Sorry about the problems. I think I would call WCC back and if needed talk with a supervisor. The return charges should be on them (not your fault the product was defective) and they should rush you out a replacement. JMO.

Mine came from Ebay all OEM parts.

I emailed the seller just befor I posted and 2 hours lattor he said he wants to send me the right one. He will also pay for shipping back to him.

What happened is the boxes packed by GM had the wrong part inside.

I called WCC first this morning, talk to a very nice gentleman. He removed the shipping cost to me and also he will send a return lable for the defected item. He also changed the shipping to Fedx overnight so I can get the part sooner. Maybe the gentleman on Saturday did not have the authority to change anything.

That sounds a lot better. Sometimes you need to talk to the "right" preson. Overnight is pretty pricey. Did you tell the nice guy you are a forum member?

I've done a fair bit of business with WCC, and they've been terrific. Sounds like the second counterman was more understanding. In my case, it's walk-in business, but they've been great. Willing to talk about what works, suggest things to correct some of my misunderstandings, etc.

Glad they sorted it out for you.
