I've long felt that one of the key mods any stock Z06 requires is a short shifter (seats are the other key mod I must have!). After doing a lot of research and comparing feedback regarding various shifter options, I had all but made up my mind to just go with a C6Z shifter, but then I stumbled across a pretty good deal on a day old MTI 6 Shooter and figured "what the heck?". In case you're wondering why it was one day old, the guy who bought it un-installed it to sell his Corvette...he did actually like the shifter.
I suppose the worst case scenario is that I'm going to need to re-sell this shifter if I don't like it, but I really like the fact that it's a true short shifter and also allows me to retain my MGW Gripper shift ****, something I understand the C6Z shifter would not allow me to do (I think you have to use the C6Z **** no matter what, right?). There are a couple related threads that deal with curing rattling sounds that it might make, and I need to figure out what I want to do about that prior to installation too.
Anyway, now I just need to read the instructions thoroughly and get this puppy installed!

I just finally got around to installing my 6-shooter today. I used that recent tip to pack the pivot point and the plastic cup with wheel bearing grease plus I have a heavy Shift **** from WCC. I'm happy to announce that the shifter works great and I do NOT have any rattle. Hopefully it satys rattle free. The grease i used was Valvoline Durablend semi-synthetic Moly grease.
Any links to the "recent tip" so that I could read about it in greater detail? Very glad to hear you're enjoying it, and hoping for similar success over here.

It was just a post i read recently, you may be able to do a search and find it. Before installing, just work high speed bearing grease into the pivot point by swabbing it in with your finger and working the lever.
I have an MGW Gripper that I have become quite attached to. I more recently bought a C5R ****, but will be selling that one since I prefer the Gripper!
