I am wondering if there is a way to remove the dash trim around the HUD projector? I would like to pop the trim piece out long enough to be able to get to some 'junk' on the windshield behind it. When I tried to gently pop it out, it did not seem to want to budge.
Not sure how they come from the factory, but when I installed mine, the kit used factory placement and parts...including screws. A search on the forum will yield instructions on taking the dash pad out...it's really not that bad.

I'm wondering if it would be easier just to go to a windshield place and ask them to take the shield out for you, do your business and get them to pop it back in.

I replace my HUD bezel that was cracked on my vert about month ago. You have to pull the dash completely out and I had to drill out the stupid lock washers that hold the bezel down. Those peg like things dont have screws like you would think; there are four and they are lock washers and they don't budge. The dash really isn't bad to get out..well time consuming you can do pretty easy but you have to start from the waterfall then console and so on. Count your screws and where they go back; I have one that I can't find place for. Be careful with the wire for the front defroster and sensor cause they want to fall back down in there. Also, don't forget to connect the harzard electrical connection like it did. One thing is I had to use the service manual to understand how to take the column pillars off. The manual says to: Grasp and pull. I was suprised but they just pulled right off.
I you just have some stuff hiding up in there you might just want to use some kind of hard wire or something to just scrape it out.
