After lots of research(cnet.com:http://www.cnet.com/4244-5_1-0.html?...rch&target=nw), I just bought the Garmin Nuvi 350 off of craigslist for $320. It's mounts perfectly to the right of the rear view mirror. The bottom lines up even with the bottom of the mirror. I am very happy with it. I now just need to hardwire it to the mirror power source for a clean, inviscord install.
Last I looked, the Garmin Nuvi 350 is under $400 on Amazon, no tax, free shipping. It's the cheapest I've seen. I have one for work.
I bought the wife a Garmin Streetpilot c340 for about $380. These were the cheapest models I found that announced street names as opposed to "turn right at next road" or whatever the lower models have. I am very good at directions and figuring out where I am and I love my GPSs. I can't see how I lived w/o them.
Garmin's website is good for figuring out which model to get.
If you want some worth the $$$, the Nuvi is the ticket. If you're considering an indash, the Pioneer or Alpine.
What's you budget>?
Right now, want to stay under $400. Down the road I'm putting in the Pioneer in-dash. That's why I want a portable. I want something I can take on the motorcycle too.

3 minutes of searching the web and I found the Nuvi 360 for around $450.
If you want the traffic option, it will cost you between $110-$140 for the traffic add-on. The Nuvi 660 comes with the traffic receiver for right around $650. Here's a review for the 660.
