Default Coming Home

Well, after several months of debate, and putting a deposit on a C6 Z51, I have decided to cancel my C6 order and I have put a deposit down on a black on black '04 C5Z with about 1800 miles on it. I don't think I've been this excited since we bought the first Z! So... couple of things...

I want to mod it, but maintain a daily driver feel. What's the right path here? Has anyone heard of Synergy Motorsports? This quarters Corvette Mag talk about them - so, I'd like to find out what you fellows think. Secondly, living in Southern Louisiana, I'd like to get a cover that will withstand the sun well and deal with the rainy season we're starting to get into. Something lightweight, yet durable... Southern Car Parts?

Suggestions welcome. Me? I'm just glad to be coming home...

Congrats, you made the right move! WHat kind of power would you like to make? That answer will will help decide what route to go with mods. If your happy with 400-450rwhp than go heads/cam/bolt on's and a tune and call it a day. If you want 450-500rwhp slap on a supercharger. If you want more prepare to roll out the greenbacks.

Cover to withstand the elements? Well...I'd go with "Garage." I don't think I'd be able to sleep with mine outside.

Funny man....

A Car Cover, whilst I'm at work and the car is sitting outside in the parking lot - I guess I should have said...

Suggestions?

Thanks for the welcome! It's so good to be home, you cannot imagine it! I think I'd like to go for the 450 to 500 range. Just enough umph to have the acceleration be nicely felt.

For your power selection you can go all motor, supercharger or simply spray. Lots of options you have, well that is until you get the thirst for more power, lol.

Smart move. I hate to even think about a new car expense.

I just hope the guys beating the dead horse thread of "Hey Z06 Driver's, do you wish you had a C6" will read this one and finally let the topic die!

Welcome back! I've had my Z for a little over a year now, put about 6K miles on her. Took a neighbor for a spirited drive yesterday and to be honest with you - no way I'd mod this car. It's all I'll ever need...for now anyway

If you wan't more ponies than 430-440RWHP and still want it to be daily drivable I'd suggest blower or stroker kit + heads/cam, headers etc. Congrats

Be sure to do lots of research and only deal with companies that will take the time to help you get all the details and your priorities sorted out; I learned the hard way on this

Congrats - you made the right choice

As far as covers go, I'd look at Cover Craft for one of their outdoor covers.

Congratulations!

I have 2 fitted California car covers for mine that the previous owner included, but only use them at home (I have a carport). That being said, I do think the covers are pretty high quality. I have an "indoor" cloth one that is then covered by an "outdoor" water resistant one...so the car wears both when at home. At work, she sleeps in a covered garage.
