Sounds like the trans was just low on fluid.

First thing I would do is confirm the transmission is topped off. car has to be running and in drive to properly check the fluid level. Also ensure the transmission fluid is warm.

Did you reprogram after putting in the chip, if not reprogramming must be done.

What kind of "chip" did you put in? The PCM in your car is re-flashable, but I wasn't aware of any "chip" that can be installed. Shed some light on this "chip" and maybe we can offer some help.

I responded yesterday but it didn't get posted. To check the fluid level in an A4 follow these important steps. Car must be raised and level. Engine must be running and in transmission in Park. Transmission fluid must be warm. The fliud level is correct when ATF is at the lower edge of the upper fill plug hole. Replace the plug before turning off the engine, or hot oil will pour out of the hole. The transmission fluid pump draws the ATF level down when it is runnig. This is the ONLY way to confirm fluid level.

If it's not the fluid level (once you have it checked) it might be that chip you put in... the only way I know to adjust shift points is by using a LS1 edit program, or a hand held tuner like Predator or Hypertech. I have never heard of a chip being used.

Good luck getting it fixed

Yes, but good luck proving it. There was another thread with the same problem. Bottom line is that they screwed up the tranny and is liable for the repair. Hopefully the manager will make good on it. But, sounds like the tranny is now toast.

This is why I do all of my oil changes and trans changes. I hope they repair it for you. David

Mike, I thought after placing the vette on the lift, the engine must be running and the transmission in drive. I could be wrong, however.
