I bought my Vette last June, and have enjoyed it since, but it was time for a new battery today.
I take off the negative lead first, and then go to the positive lead with the same wrench, as try to un-tighten the bolt i realize it is stripped.
How do i get that bolt (lead to battery) out? As you know it is horizontally located with little room.
What stripped, the head or threads? If it's the head, just replace the whole thing by unbolting the other end. While you're at it, you might ask about '04 cables that are post mounted. If it's the threads, try leveraging the bolt out with something while you try to turn it. You might get lucky and catch a thread to back it out. If everything else fails, BFH! It's coming out anyway!

I agree with bb609. Apply force (pressure) with something (a door pannel tool, strong Bar B Q fork or large flat blade screw driver) between the battery and the battery cable while turning the bolt out. The female thread only being lead should not give you much of a fight coming out.
It is an 01, and not original battery, but i finally got it out! I took a pipe wrench, and twisted on it using the outer round ring of it. Took alotta muscle but i got my new battery in! Thanks
