Default Fresh air vs re-circulate

How do I get the fresh air intake to the cabin default to that button. It used to but now, every time I start the car, the re-circ button in on. Frustrating...

I don't know and I'm sure on of the techies will chime in, but according to Al Gore, you're doomed regardless.

Try posting up in the Tech section. Also, specify if you have C60 (manual) or (CJ2) automatic HVAC set-up.

A manual or automatic HVAC set up? Transmission I know, but the HVAC? Don't know. But it sounds like I'm doomed!

Welp, can you set a specific temperature? That's a clue right there.
Try looking in the OM. It will explain too.

I have been frustrated by the CJ2 system as well. It seems I spend more time fighting it than I ought to. My feeling is that it uses outside temp and cabin temp (what you've set it to) to determine whether to use AC and recirc. If you have the AUTO mode on, it will also determine which vents to use and the fan speed. Can't stand it.

I might be wrong (if I am I'm sure I'll hear about it) I think this will be remembered by setting your "Memory" with it in whatever mode you want. But like stated above the owner's manual should be the true source.

Set it to what you want and match the memory button to the fob. Once you know you have the correct one and not in drive or reverse hold down the 1 or 2 until it flashes and HVAC should be set to memory. Enjoy

Set everything the way you want it, ie: Seat, mirrors, radio, HAVAC, Press and Hold the MEM1 on your door panel until the light blinks fast and then release. (about 10secs).
Then the next time you start your car, thats where everything should default to. (I think).

Could be the system doing what its supposed to. I believe it automatically goes into recirc when the inner vs outer temp difference is extreme. When they get closer (sorry, can't remember the values) it goes back to "vent" mode.
