We're looking at possibly adding a new car to the stable, and I know I'm asking in the C5 forum, but oh well.
Were looking at either a 01 Z06, 01-02 M3, or a 05-06 C6.
M3 and Z06 are going to be close in price mid 20s and the C6 would be upper 20s. I'm inclined to say a M3 cause I already have the vette, and an M3 would be a neat addition, but the C5 Z06s are really a nice car. The only reason we are thinking about a C6 is because the one that we would want is about 3-4 years newer, and it would be nice to have a newer car with warranty for my GF to drive.
So what do y'all think, biased opinions aside, I'm looking for a un-biased range of opinions.

Depends on what your looking for...
M3 has a back seat, it might be nice if you two are planning to keep the car for a while and could be expecting.
I am not sure where your getting a C6 for the upper 20's. From what I've seen they are all in the mid 30's still.
When the 08s come out with the bump in HP, the 05 and 06 C6s are going to fall to the upper 20s and lower 30s. In fact I have already seen them for 32 to 34 so when the 08s are out they will get even cheaper. Granted we aren't talking about a 4k mile car. shoot I may even have to go for one of the 08s .
I was in this same spot two years ago. Upon driving both I ended up with the z. The m3 is a great car! But, again it comes down to your needs. I was looking for more of a fast toy that's why I went with the z. If I were looking for a daily driver I would have gone with the m3. If your looking to mod go with the z. If people think the corvette tax is high, wait till you see the BMW tax bracket. Just my .02.
mid/lower mileage M3 for sure. They have a 100K powertrain warranty too. Don't expect one for less than $26K unless it has a million miles, I've been looking for one myself.
One of the previous posters was right. If you think the Vette tax is bad, wait til you try and buy a $2000 exhaust for the BMW!
If you already have a C5, I'd go with the C6 or BMW.
Dont want a 4 door. We dont plan on having kids, especially not now, that may change down the road when were 35+. I dont like kids and she only maybe wants one so it's easy to compromise
Right now I think that we are leaning towards a C5 Z in SW, or EB, or a M3 in LS blue, white, or red. Maybe another FRC, but it would have to be low miles and in perfect shape. What makes the M3 appealing is the warranty, I'm also reasonable when buying a 4-5 year old car, I dont need one that has 10k miles on it, maybe 50-60 would be reasonable.
